The Jaguars starting nickel CB DJ Hayden is the only Jaguar expected to miss practice Thursday. Hayden missed the Jaguars week three loss to the Titans with a toe injury and has yet to return to practice. Doug Marrone said earlier in the week that they're considering Hayden "week-to-week" with his injury. Hayden has quietly been one of the most consistent performers for the Jaguars this year. His backup, Tyler Patmon, is more than qualified to fill in and play well, but Hayden had been amongst the best nickel cornerbacks in the league during the first two weeks of this season.
With Hayden being the only player not expected to practice that means that TJ Yeldon, who missed practice yesterday and missed a portion of the game against the Titans, will return to practice for the Jaguars. His presence is vital for Jacksonville, especially with Leonard Fournette nursing a hamstring injury. Speaking of Leonard Fournette, he's also slated to participate in Thursday practice. At this point his availability for Sunday is unknown, but it should be noted that he's looked sharp in drills this week and hasn't shown any signs of being on the mend. Still, with hamstring injuries it's wise to proceed with caution. AJ Cann, who is dealing with a triceps injury is making progress. He didn't play against the Titans, but appears to be on track to make a return to the field this Sunday. Brandon Linder had his scheduled day off on Wednesday because of a knee injury and will be back on the field Thursday. Also appearing on the Thursday pre practice injury report are Jermey Parnell (knee), Austin Seferian-Jenkins (core muscle), and Calais Campbell (ankle). All three players are expected to practice. It seems possible that both Leonard Fournette and TJ Yeldon could be on the field for the Jaguars Sunday, but it's really up in the air at this stage in the game. Stay tuned for more updates as the week progresses. |
