Denard Robinson was involved in a car accident over the holiday weekend. Here's what the Jaguars had to say about the situation.
A seemingly simple situation gets much more curious as more news is released. Apparently Robinson fell asleep at the wheel and drove his car into a pond off Beach Blvd. An officer arrived at the scene to find Robinson and a female passenger asleep as Robinson's vehicle was being submerged. Robinson was unaware of the situation he was in and needed to be assisted out of the vehicle by a police officer.
Even more strange, apparently Robinson wasn't charge with any sort of DUI or citation as the officer didn't feel Robinson was impaired. I'm not sure how you fall asleep at the wheel while unimpaired and don't notice that your sinking in a pond, but that's neither here nor there. The bottom line is Robinson is a player that was likely to make the team in 2016 as the third or fourth running back, but this makes things sticky for the Jags who also have an experienced Jonas Grey, and explosive Corey Grant who are battling with Robinson for a roster spot at the running back position. Stay tuned for more Jags coverage! |
