Changes in the defensive staff: Wash, Rutenberg to stay, everyone else shown the door

Todd Wash will stay on as defensive coordinator and Michael Rutenberg will still be a defensive assistant -- other than that the rest of the Jaguars defensive staff is gone, per Mike DiRocco of ESPN

The new Jaguars brain trust, which consists of Tom Coughlin, Doug Marrone, and Dave Caldwell have decided to keep Todd Wash on as the defensive coordinator. The more questions that are answered, the more questions arise. Will the Jaguars keep the same defensive scheme? Will they alter it slightly? Will there be a complete flip in the defensive scheme?

No-one knows the answers to these questions yet, maybe not even Wash himself. What is clear is that the brain trust truly appreciates Wash and his coaching style.

What's also clear is there is a good amount of young and veteran talent on the defensive side of the ball for the Jaguars.

Expectations will be very high for the Jaguars defense heading into 2017.
