Long time Jaguars long snapper Carson Tinker has been placed on the reserve/injured list by the Jaguars as the team signed Matt Overton to take his place. Tinker missed all of 2017 with a torn ACL, but returned to reclaim his job in 2018. Unfortunately for him he's suffered another knee injury.
Matt Overton was signed in 2017 to replace the injured Tinker, but suffered a season ending injury himself in November of last season. Now, he'll have another shot at the job. Long snappers are rarely mentioned, but Tinker's impact on the team over the years has been obvious. Life in the NFL can be rough for long snappers and being placed on IR two consecutive years isn't the best way to keep your job at the position. Rookie Logan Cooke will need to quickly adapt to his new long snapper, both as a punter and place kick holder. |
