Doug Marrone met with the media on Wednesday and touched on a wide variety of topics. He shared which players would be held out in the Jaguars' third preseason game against the Dolphins on Thursday in Miami.
Here are the players that won't suit up: WR Marqise Lee RB Alfred Blue LB Jake Ryan LB Quincy Williams LB Davis Tull TE Charles Jones TE Geoff Swaim TE Josh Oliver DT Marcell Dareus. No one on the list is a major surprise. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if more players get added to this list by the time the game rolls around on Thursday night. The Jaguars have been ultra-cautious when it comes to injury prevention and injury recovery this summer. While the third preseason game is considered the most important and is often referred to as the "dress rehearsal" it's still a risk to trot guys out there. The biggest news on the injury front, however, is that, according to Doug Marrone's statements, Cam Robinson will play against the Dolphins. When asked about Robinson's progress in his recovery, Marrone had this to say: "He's going to play, so I would say that's pretty good progression." The Jaguars' starting left tackle hasn't played in a game since sustaining an ACL tear in week two of 2018. His return to the field is a crucial step for the Jaguars' offensive line and offense as a whole. The drop off from Robinson to his backup is steep.
