This Just In:
The Jaguars have informed WR Allen Robinson that he will not have the team's lone franchise tag or the transition tag placed on him. This according to Ian Rapoport.
Now, this doesn't necessarily mean A-Rob won't be back in Jax but it is a step towards him becoming a free agent. The Jaguars still have until March 14th to sign Robinson to a new deal, but as every day passes that prospect seems more and more unlikely. According to a report a league source says the Jaguars are more likely to re-sign WR Marqise Lee, who was selected in the same round of the 2014 draft as Allen Robinson, to a new deal.
If Robinson does hit the open market it'll be a feeding frenzy. Even coming off a torn ACL he's considered the best WR set to hit the market. At just 24 years old Robinson is an ascending star that has a penchant for making big plays down the field. Among the potential suitors are the 49ers and Bears, both of whom have cap space and need to surround their young QB with more weapons.
