As Ian Rapoport reported Monday (today) morning Branden Albert did not attend the Jaguars first team meeting of the offseason.
Because Jaguars. While it's not a major issue for a player to miss a voluntary team meeting it is certainly a statement that Branden Albert wants a new deal. It's not clear if Albert wants more years on the deal, more guaranteed money, or a higher average salary. At 32 years old Albert has two years and about $19 million left on his current contract. At 32 years old it's hard to imagine a player getting signed to a much bigger deal than Albert already has. One would think these issues could have been squared away prior to the Albert trade going down or in the time he has been with the team since the trade. While this is a very Jaguars situation - it won't likely turn into a major issue. The Jaguars have plenty of cap space to appease the aging left tackle.
