It's official . . . Blaine Gabbert will start for the Cardinals in week 12, this according to his head coach Bruce Arians. With Carson Palmer recovering from a broken arm and backup QB Drew Stanton nursing a knee injury the Cardinals will once again start Blaine Gabbert.

The ultimate redemption game for Gabbert comes against the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Gabbert, like most of the players brought in during the Gene Smith era, never panned out for the Jaguars. Since being ousted by the Jaguars in 2013, Gabbert has been a backup, primarily for the 49ers. This offseason Gabbert signed on with the Cardinals.

Want even more irony (of course you do)? The Cardinals QB coach is another former first round pick by the Jaguars - Byron Leftwich. While Leftwhich was far from a perfect QB for the Jaguars, or in any of his other stints around the league, he has developed a nice reputation as a QB Coach.

Gabbert will undoubtedly want to show the Jaguars that they made a mistake by letting him walk. It's much more likely, however, that the Jaguars will be able to take advantage of Blaine Gabbert and his career QB Rating of 72. The Cardinals are struggling on offense with a below average offensive line and a lack of big time playmakers.

Sacksonville takes their show on the road for the second straight week and will look to take Gabbert and the Cardinals offense down in week 12. The Jaguars have a league high 40 sacks in 2017.

Blaine Gabbert is coming off of a decent performance against Houston in which he completed nearly 65% of his passes, throwing for 257 yards, 3 TDs, and 2 INTs.

Are you excited, nervous, or maybe even shocked to see the Jaguars take on their former starting QB Blaine Gabbert? Let us know in the comments below.
