The Jaguars got some fantastic news on the injury front Wednesday. Pro Bowl cornerback AJ Bouye is slated to return to practice, albeit in a limited capacity.
The star CB had missed the last two games for the Jaguars with a calf injury and the league's number one secondary pretty much completely fell apart with out him, surrendering at least 285 and 3 TDs in both contests. If Bouye continues to progress throughout the week and is able to play on Sunday it could tip the scales in the Jaguars favor in their week 11 matchup with the Steelers. The Jaguars have lost five straight, but their offense came to life against the Colts in week ten, thanks in large part to the return of Leonard Fournette. Had the Jaguars defense been able to do anything to stop the Colts in the first half the Big Cats likely would have come away with their first victory since week four. Other players that will participate in practice but are listed on the injury report Wednesday: FS Tashaun Gipson (wrist), LB Telvin Smith (Shoulder), EDGE Lerentee McCray (hamstring), OT Ereck Flowers (knee). There are three players on the active roster not expected to practice: CB Quenton Meeks (knee), DT Eli Ankou (calf), and OL Josh Walker (foot/ankle). Stay tuned for more injury updates to come. |
