The Jaguars enter their bye week coming off a dominant divisional win against the Colts. AT 4-3 and tied for first place in their division are the Jaguars a favorite to make the playoffs?
According to ESPN's Football Power Index the Jaguars have an extremely high chance to make the playoffs. At 82.7% odds of making it to the dance, the Jaguars have one of the best odds in the entire league to make the playoffs. It's hard to blame ESPN for thinking this way. Several factors are in the Jaguars favor. The Jaguars still play two winless teams in the Browns and 49ers, they play the hapless Colts, and several other teams with losing records. The Jaguars biggest tests come against the Seahawks and Titans. With a dominant pass defense that leads the NFL in interceptions and a pass rush that is on pace for an NFL record 75 sacks, the Jaguars have found their recipe for success on defense. On offense the Jaguars will look to run, run, run no matter what. Leonard Fournette is the bell cow in a backfield that features two other impressive backs in Chris Ivory and TJ Yeldon. The offensive line is vastly improved over last years bunch despite having many of the same pieces. The Jaguars may not have a consistent passing attack but it doesn't look like they'll need it to reach the playoffs. Do you think the Jaguars will make the playoffs?
