A full breakdown of the day that was at the Jaguars second day of training camp practice!

A day after the Jaguars offense and defense traded punches, the offense landing a couple more than the defense, the defense responded by making things incredibly difficult for the Jaguars offense on day two.
There were several defensive highlights including a few would be sacks and big hits, but none was more impressive than Tashaun Gipson's pass deflection covering the deep middle of the field. Allen Hurns was covered tightly by Prince Amukamara while Tashaun Gipson was playing the deep middle. Bortles fired a ball that looked like it would land right in Hurns' bread basket, but at the last moment Gipson came in and made an impressive break up, the type of play that Jaguars fans have been longing for for over a decade.

Jalen Ramsey continued to impress working inside and outside.

Yannick Ngakoue spent some time with the ones today and didn't disappoint. His explosiveness and athleticism are really a treat to watch. He, along with Dante Fowler and Tyrone Holmes, brings an element that has been missing from the Jaguars pass rush in years past -- speed.

Telvin Smith was fired up and flying all over the field and almost recorded his first INT of camp, but fortunately for Bortles and the offense Smith couldn't quite reel the ball in.

Before the practice started in earnest Tashaun Gipson and several other defensive backs could be seen practicing catching the ball with one hand, a skill that Gipson displays with ease.

A final note on the defense -- they made it incredibly hard for Allen Robinson to do anything today, a feat rarely seen, especially in Jaguars practice.

While the defense was clearly the better unit on day two, the offense didn't go down with out a fight. Julius Thomas made several impressive catches down the middle of the field. It's becoming more and more clear that he may be the Jaguars biggest mismatch for opposing defense in 2016.

Hurns , Walters and Greene all looked good today catching passes.

In team drills Bortles and the rest of the quarterbacks were much less impressive than they were on day one.

On the injury front, both T.J. Yeldon (ankle) didn't practice due to an apparent cleat malfunction during yesterday's practice and Marqise Lee was sidelined due to a hamstring. For Yeldon there is no cause for concern, but for Lee whenever hamstrings issues are brought up it gives pause. Hopefully, it's just a minor setback.

As for the battle between Beachum and Joeckel for the starting left tackle spot, well Beachum started today at left tackle while Joeckel started at left guard. It's becoming fairly obvious that who ever loses out at the left tackle spot will likely start at left guard.

Another impressive and hot day at training camp as over 2,000 fans were in attendance. Stay tuned for more training camp coverage!
