The Jaguars have signed former Colts linebacker and special teamer Josh McNary.
The 28 year old linebacker played his college ball for Army before going undrafted in 2013. He was signed as undrafted free agent by the Colts and spent four years in Indianapolis, where he started five games and was a regular special teams contributor. In his four seasons he racked up 48 total tackles, many of which came on special teams. This signing adds to a common theme for the Jaguars this offseason - that is adding players who have legitimate special teams experience that know their role. McNary led the Colts with 9 special teams tackles in 2016. He like won't see the field for the Jaguars as a linebacker but he has a good shot to help a special teams unit that has already seen Lerentee McCray, Audie Cole, and Calais Campbell added to the mix in the last week. The Jaguars are allocating lots of time and effort to improve their special teams in 2017. Only time will tell if their efforts will pay off.
